Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are the answers to questions that we frequently receive from parents of students and potential students. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please contact us!
What is considered the "right age" for children to start piano lessons?
In all honesty, it depends on the child! Some children are perfectly capable of starting at age 4, and others would be better off waiting a few years. It really depends on their ability to focus, how well they comprehend new information, and their finger coordination and mobility. We are happy to meet with you and your child to determine whether they might be ready to start lessons!
Do we need to have a piano at home in order for my child to take lessons?
In order to be productive and make progress, it is assumed you have a working piano or keyboard in your home, located in a quiet and available space for the student to practice. If you need help acquiring a piano or keyboard, please let us know and we will be happy to make some recommendations!
Can I drop my child off at lessons or do I need to wait inside the studio?
You can absolutely drop them off as long as you return to pick them up as soon as their lesson is over. We do, however, have a waiting area in the lobby if you would like to wait inside the studio! You are more than welcome to.
